Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Chief Compliance Officer (RC) to join our dynamic team in Luxembourg for 10 months (maternity leave).
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our operations in Luxembourg comply with all relevant regulatory and compliance requirements. You will collaborate closely with various internal teams to develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures to support our growth and innovation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the compliance framework of a cutting-edge fintech company.
Responsibilities
- Operational tasks:
- Participate in the daily operations of the Compliance team, including but not limited to drafting, preparing and implementing policies, procedures, compliance frameworks.
- Risk assessment and management:
- Identify and evaluate potential compliance risks and vulnerabilities associated with our activities.
- Collaborate with the team to develop strategies for mitigating and managing compliance-related risks.
- Communication and collaboration:
- Act as the main person of contact with the Luxembourg regulators on KYC and AML related topics.
- Collaborate with other teams, including legal and IT, to ensure alignment on compliance matters.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the authorities and respond to inquiries or requests promptly.
- Regulatory compliance:
- Stay abreast of all relevant regulatory developments and requirements in Luxembourg and the European Union, including but not limited to crypto asset services (MiCAR/DORA are of high importance).
- Conduct ongoing assessments to ensure the company's compliance with local and international regulatory standards.
- Develop, update, and communicate compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence across the organization.
- Reporting and documentation:
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports to relevant authorities.
- Maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities, reports, and audits.
- Training and awareness:
- Develop and conduct compliance training programs to educate employees about compliance policies and regulations.
- Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the organization.
- Internal Investigations:
- Lead and assess the outcome of internal investigations to assess and enhance our compliance framework.
- Implement corrective actions and follow-up procedures to address identified compliance issues.
Skills And Qualifications
- Master/Bachelor's degree in law, finance, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or professional certifications in compliance are a plus.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in a similar role. Experience within the fintech industry and/or with specific experience in the virtual assets sector is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of Luxembourg regulatory requirements, including those related to virtual assets and cryptocurrencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory information effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French is advantageous.
- Ethical and principled, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and integrity.
- Residency in Luxembourg or greater region is required.
