Lead IT Network Engineer (Nationalisation / Emiratisation)

A leading enterprise organisation (client confidential) is hiring a Lead, IT Network Engineer to provide operational support and technical leadership across corporate network infrastructure and hybrid cloud connectivity.

This vacancy is part of a Nationalisation / Emiratisation hiring initiative and is open to UAE Emirati candidates only.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations, performance, and stability of enterprise LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructure.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents, outages, and performance degradation to ensure high availability within agreed SLAs.
• Administer firewalls, VPNs, and network access control devices in line with corporate cybersecurity standards.
• Implement network security controls including segmentation, intrusion prevention, and access management.
• Support capacity planning and network optimisation to maintain performance at scale.
• Oversee firmware/configuration updates for routers, switches, and access points, ensuring vendor compliance.
• Maintain network documentation (diagrams, configuration records, inventory).
• Design and deploy scalable network solutions for data centres, remote sites, and cloud environments (Azure / AWS).
• Support secure connectivity solutions including SD-WAN, VPN, VLANs, and hybrid cloud integration (e.g., Azure Virtual Network).
• Prepare network performance and incident reports for management and audit purposes.
• Support internal audits, risk assessments, and cybersecurity evaluations related to network assets.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to IT support teams and junior engineers.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure contractual SLA adherence.

Requirements

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science (or equivalent).
• 6+ years of experience in IT / network engineering (enterprise environments preferred).
• Strong hands-on experience with LAN/WAN/WiFi, troubleshooting, and secure network operations.

Preferred

• Cisco or Fortinet certifications (e.g., CCNP, NSE).
• Microsoft Azure Administration certification.
• AWS or other cloud networking certifications.
• ITIL Foundation / Project Management certification.
• Azure Solution Architect certification.
