About The Role

This is a senior, ownership-driven Project Manager role.

At Making Sense, Project Managers are accountable for real delivery outcomes, not just coordination. You will own projects end-to-end, working closely with US-based clients and cross-functional teams to ensure predictable delivery, clear decision-making, and sustainable execution.

This role is designed for experienced PMs who value autonomy, clarity, and accountability, and who prefer doing meaningful work over chasing titles or career ladders.

What You Are Accountable For

  • Full ownership of assigned projects, including scope, timeline, delivery health, and sustainability.
  • Managing client expectations through clear, direct, and transparent communication.
  • Actively identifying risks and taking early action to protect delivery outcomes.
  • Leading planning, prioritization, and execution in collaboration with engineering and design teams.
  • Managing scope changes and raising the need for renegotiation when assumptions change.
  • Ensuring projects remain predictable and economically viable.
  • Escalating issues proactively and constructively when project health is at risk.
  • Protecting team focus and preventing unsustainable delivery practices.

What You Will Do

  • Define and maintain clear project plans aligned with delivery objectives.
  • Facilitate agile practices adapted to each project’s context.
  • Drive decision-making when priorities conflict.
  • Communicate status, risks, and trade-offs clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Finance to ensure billing reflects project reality

(without owning billing execution).

  • Continuously improve delivery practices based on experience and feedback.

What This Role Is Not

  • A coordination-only or administrative role.
  • A task tracker or meeting scheduler.
  • A billing or accounting operations role.
  • A “buffer” to avoid difficult conversations.

Requisitos

Experience

What we are looking for

  • 6+ years of experience managing software development projects.
  • Proven experience working with US-based clients.
  • Strong understanding of software delivery and agile practices.
  • Experience in fixed-price and/or time & materials engagements.

Skills

  • Excellent stakeholder communication and expectation management.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to say “no” when needed and explain trade-offs clearly.
  • High level of autonomy and ownership.
  • Advanced English level
