Scrum Master

About The Role

As a Scrum Master, you will make an impact by enabling your squad to deliver high‑quality outcomes through strong agile practices, effective flow of value, and proactive removal of impediments. You will be a valued member of the transformation delivery organization and collaborate closely with Product Owners, Area Triangles, and multiple cross‑functional teams.

In This Role, You Will

• Protect the team from distractions and ensure focus on sprint goals by tracking sprint velocity, capacity, and progress.
• Facilitate essential agile ceremonies, ensuring the team aligns with Area and Group‑level rhythms.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to enhance value delivery using Customer‑Centricity and Design Thinking techniques.
• Support production issue handling where team maturity requires it, ensuring timely communication, follow‑up, RCA completion, and monitoring of patches and upgrades.
• Identify delivery gaps and coordinate or execute corrective actions, including UAT support and security‑related commitments.
• Proactively manage dependencies and impediments, stepping in to remove blockers that impact sprint goals.
• Ensure squad readiness for S@S quarterly planning, including capacity checks, work‑type clarity, dependency tracking, and Azure DevOps readiness.
• Facilitate creation of quarterly commitments, manage tags and reports in ADO, and support collaboration with other teams during S@S Planning.
• Measure and improve team performance through OKRs and squad‑specific value metrics.
• Coach the team on built‑in quality practices, shift‑left, workflow automation, and quality standards.
• Foster high‑performing team behaviors: limiting WIP, building psychological ownership, strengthening engagement, and improving knowledge management.
• Lead by example as a servant leader, coaching team members individually and collectively to improve maturity and delivery outcomes.
• Participate actively in the Scrum Master Community of Practice.
• Define and enforce Azure DevOps rules of engagement to improve transparency and work item accuracy.
• Represent the squad in Scrum Master Syncs, share blockers, and facilitate cross‑team collaboration.
• Build trust with stakeholders through effective communication, alignment, and relationship‑building.
  
  

Work model

Hybrid

This role requires a hybrid work arrangement with required presence in the client or Cognizant office in the Netherlands, depending on business needs.

What you need to have to be considered

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a scaled agile environment (S@S, SAFe, or similar).
• Strong understanding of sprint execution, velocity, capacity, and delivery KPIs.
• Hands‑on experience facilitating agile ceremonies and enabling team rhythm alignment.
• Demonstrated capability in dependency management and impediment removal.
• Experience coordinating production issues, RCA processes, and cross‑team communication.
• Working proficiency with Azure DevOps.
• Strong coaching skills and ability to elevate team maturity.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
