Project Manager

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager to join our client, a well-established engineering consultancy based in Richmond supporting transmission, substation, and distribution infrastructure projects across Western Canada.

As the Project Manager you will step into a visible, client-facing role within a technically strong organization, overseeing a portfolio of capital projects and delivering meaningful utility infrastructure work. Responsibilities

• Manage schedules, progress tracking, and reporting across multiple concurrent projects
• Oversee engineering design coordination and full project administration within an assigned portfolio
• Direct and coordinate internal project personnel to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget
• Lead client communication and manage project control support functions
• Participate in project proposals, budgeting, and cost planning
• Organize and facilitate project meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Coordinate activities between clients, contractors, suppliers, and consultants
• Develop and maintain process flow charts and drive process optimization initiatives
• Prepare management and client reports, including project close-out documentation
• Mentor and support Project Coordinators, including assisting with onboarding and training
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience
• Experience within the utility and/or telecommunications industry, ideally supporting medium to large organizations
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proven success leading cross-functional teams and applying project management best practices
• Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• Access to a vehicle
• PMP designation or equivalent certification is preferred
• Exposure to multiple project delivery methodologies and frameworks is preferred
