The Role

The company is seeking a Data Scientist with a focus on computer vision to work on end-to-end AI solutions. This role involves taking ownership of computer vision problems from early exploration through to production deployment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping both the product and the technical direction of the company, working in a hands-on, fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, train, and evaluate computer vision models (e.g. image and video classification, object detection, segmentation)
  • Work with complex, real-world visual datasets, including data preparation and augmentation
  • Experiment with and adapt modern deep learning architectures
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and founders to integrate models into production systems
  • Iterate quickly based on product requirements and real-world feedback
  • Contribute to technical decision-making and best practices within the team

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in data science, machine learning, or a related role with exposure to computer vision
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning and computer vision frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV)
  • Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals
  • Ability to work independently in an environment with evolving requirements
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

Desirable Experience

  • Experience deploying machine learning models into production
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerisation, or MLOps tooling
  • Experience in a startup or small team environment
  • Background in video analytics, edge AI, or multi-modal models
  • Evidence of practical computer vision work (projects, open-source, publications)
