The Role
The company is seeking a Data Scientist with a focus on computer vision to work on end-to-end AI solutions. This role involves taking ownership of computer vision problems from early exploration through to production deployment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping both the product and the technical direction of the company, working in a hands-on, fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, train, and evaluate computer vision models (e.g. image and video classification, object detection, segmentation)
- Work with complex, real-world visual datasets, including data preparation and augmentation
- Experiment with and adapt modern deep learning architectures
- Collaborate closely with engineers and founders to integrate models into production systems
- Iterate quickly based on product requirements and real-world feedback
- Contribute to technical decision-making and best practices within the team
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in data science, machine learning, or a related role with exposure to computer vision
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Hands-on experience with machine learning and computer vision frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV)
- Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals
- Ability to work independently in an environment with evolving requirements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Desirable Experience
- Experience deploying machine learning models into production
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerisation, or MLOps tooling
- Experience in a startup or small team environment
- Background in video analytics, edge AI, or multi-modal models
- Evidence of practical computer vision work (projects, open-source, publications)
