Senior Data & AI Engineer

Join a growing organisation as a Senior Data & AI Engineer and help the business collect, organise, and turn data into actionable insights and AI-powered solutions. You’ll build automations and AI tools using Microsoft technologies, set best-practice standards for data management, and support teams in adopting these solutions.

This role combines engineering and automation, so strong experience with Snowflake, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and data warehousing is essential. You’ll work independently, explain complex ideas in simple terms, and collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

As a senior team member, you’ll shape how data is structured, stored, and used across the organisation, guiding others and solving problems with data and technology from start to finish.

About You

• You’re a senior-level data engineer with deep expertise in Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, and cloud data warehousing.
• Strong understanding of SQL, data modelling, ETL pipelines, and governance principles.
• Experience deploying AI and automation solutions within Microsoft ecosystems.
• Comfortable working autonomously and owning projects end-to-end.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with DBT, Azure Purview, or other cloud data management tools.
• Familiarity with AI agent design, automation frameworks, and advanced data integrations.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and automate ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure, SQL, REST APIs, Blob Storage, and ADF from diverse sources, ensuring data quality and reliability.
• Build, maintain, and optimise the Snowflake data warehouse.
• Design and implement AI and automation solutions via AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, and Power Apps.
• Develop and maintain documentation of data architecture, data flow, and warehouse models for technical and business audiences.
• Integrate, transform, and enrich data from internal and external sources to support operational and analytical needs.
• Uphold and implement data governance, security, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including non-technical users, to identify opportunities for automation and AI-powered solutions.
• Contribute to the roadmap for CRM modernisation, back-office automation, and AI agents that enhance customer and community experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
