JOB DESCRIPTION

Business Analysis

• Act as a bridge between business and IT, translating business needs into clear requirements for data engineers.
• Support the process owner with drafting, structuring, and documenting business requirements for projects and improvement initiatives within the Supplies department.
• Translate business requirements into IT solutions using the right methodology.
• Document data definitions, data flows, and logic behind reports to ensure knowledge is shared and secured within the department.

Data Collection

• Collect data from various sources, including internal databases, external sources, and other relevant sources.
• Ensure a consistent and efficient data structure for reporting, aligned with organizational data standards.
• Guarantee accuracy and completeness of collected data.
• Develop measures, KPIs, and data models necessary for the operation of Deliveries.

Reporting and Visualization

• Support business stakeholders in interpreting reports and insights, advising on data‑driven optimizations.
• Develop clear reports and dashboards to present complex data in an understandable way.
• Use data visualization tools to communicate insights effectively.
• Think critically about the impact of actions or changes within the Energy Supplies department, propose adjustments, and proactively support with control/follow‑up measures.
• Present findings to the Energy Trading and Risk Management Team Leader and provide recommendations for improvements based on data insights.
• Examples include: ETRM reporting, market trend analysis, customer reporting, insights on shipping and sourcing contracts, and regulatory reporting.

Data Analysis

• Apply statistical and analytical methods to explore data, identify patterns, and understand trends.
• Investigate and develop possibilities to extract more information from existing data.
• Identify new data streams to optimize analysis methods and maximize information gains.

Collaboration

• Collaborate with different departments and stakeholders to understand and meet data needs.
• Provide advice to the Energy Trading and Risk Management Team Leader based on data insights.

Data Management

• Maintain and manage data quality.
• Identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies to ensure analysis is performed on reliable data.

Technology Skills

• Stay up to date on new technologies and methodologies in data analytics.

SKILLS

• Core Requirements (Must Have)
• Proven experience in optimizing/tuning databases and queries – 3 years (Medior).
• Proven experience with Data Visualization Tools BI (Tableau / Power BI) – 1 year (Junior).
• Demonstrable experience in analysing data streams – 3 years (Medior).
• Proven experience with SQL – Yes.
• Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR level C2 – Yes.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (SHOULD HAVE)

• Proven experience in the energy sector – Yes.
• Translating demonstrable experience with business rules into correct applications in data views – Yes.
• Demonstrable experience with databases (SQL, Oracle) – Yes.
• Demonstrable experience with Data Modelling (Gold Layer) – Yes.
• Demonstrable experience with reporting – Yes.
• Demonstrable experience with scripting (Shell, Perl, Python) – Yes.
• Proven experience with Tableau – 2 years (Junior).
• Drawing up dashboards and KPIs reporting, optimizing star schedules – Yes.
