About Teleste And The Role

Our Teleste Public Safety & Mobility Unit provides information and video surveillance solutions for public transport operators, train manufacturers and the public sector. In this job, you will be involved in and contribute to many projects of social importance.

As a Software Developer you'll be developing database creation tools for our Passenger Information System that is used in trains and trams. This role is based in Tampere. There is a possibility for hybrid remote role.

Who You Are

In addition to the SW development, a major part of the work is dialogue and documentation of technical details, both internally and with customers. In order to succeed in your work, you'll need:

• Experience in Java and Web UI technologies and databases
• Knowledge of user interfaces and user experience background is preferred
• Overall understanding of tech, but also a capability of sharing your technical knowledge to others. We’re happy to support you as you learn our technologies!
• Passion towards technologies and boldness to try new ways to do things
• Capability to understand complex system architectures
• Fluent written and spoken English, Finnish language skill is a bonus, but not mandatory
• Quality-driven mindset
• Good understanding of Linux-based embedded systems and knowledge of Java Swing is seen as a plus
