About the Role
The RADAR ALGORITHM ARCHITECTURE ENGINEER/CONSULTANT will be responsible for defining the algorithm architecture, making key technical decisions that influence the overall algorithm design and implementation. This role requires a deep understanding of radar technology and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Definition of algorithm architectures (algo integration strategy & concepts) which are aligned with the application goals and requirements.
- Specification, design, and implementation of algorithm work products.
- Support and tailoring activities of the algorithm models to bring them into embedded platforms.
- Specification, design, implementation, unit-testing, execution, and reporting of the back-to-back algorithm testing.
- Identification and evaluation algorithm solutions optimized for embedded system constraints, including processor architecture and performance limitations.
- Specification, design, implementation, unit-testing, execution of all required radar signal processing modules, articulating the algorithm architecture within the embedded platform.
- Leading algorithm model integration activities to ensure successful embedding.
- Definition of test plans for verification of all relevant requirements.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree in telecom, electronics, signal processing, computer science, mathematics or equivalent.
Required Skills
- Excellent knowledge of state-of-the-art radar technology.
- Extensive experience in defining and implementing cross-functional radar algorithm architectural technical solutions (Signal processing, algorithms, embedded SW and algorithm integration layers).
- Profound knowledge of modern end-to-end radar signal processing pipelines.
- Profound experience working with Matlab and Simulink including Model-Based Design.
- Very good experience in developing algorithm architectural design and associated specification - if required in collaboration with signal processing experts.
- Very good experience in analyzing algorithm requirements and translating them into technical algorithm solutions or concepts.
- Good experience working with embedded software development and the integration of signal processing pipelines in heterogeneous real-time multi-processor environments.
- Good technical documentation skills and capability to write Algorithm Architecture/Embedded SW interface specifications.
- High level of understanding of SoC-based embedded radar platforms.
- Capability to define signal processing pipeline and pre-processing test plans and structured evaluation/analysis of test results.
- Capability to present/decompose complex technical problems for non-technical stakeholders.
- Capability to understand goals and prioritize accordingly.
- Capability to decompose and debug complex SW/Algo issues and its effects on the processing chain.
- Basic knowhow in FMEA, Functional Safety.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- German and/or French are considered as strong assets.
Preferred Skills
- MATLAB incl. signal processing, Model-Based Design and Automatic code generation.
- Embedded IDE.
- C / C++ programming language.
- Version control software (SVN, Git).
- Requirements management system (DOORS).
- Microsoft Office.
