Full Stack Engineer

Salt is currently hiring a Fullstack Engineer for a client of ours in Amsterdam.

We require a freelancer with kvk/zzp.

Tech Stack

• Backend (70%): Java (Spring, Spring Boot); Perl is a plus
• Frontend (30%): TypeScript, React

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer II, you design, build, and operate reliable software solutions across the Booking.com tech stack. You translate business requirements into high-quality, well-tested code, take ownership of services end-to-end, and collaborate closely with product, engineering, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain scalable backend and frontend applications
• Write clean, reusable, and well-tested code; continuously refactor and improve quality
• Own services end-to-end, including monitoring, deployment, and production support
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; contribute to post-incident reviews
• Contribute to system and architectural design decisions
• Improve reliability, performance, and development processes
• Communicate clearly with cross-functional stakeholders and mentor junior engineers

• Participation in an on-call rotation may be required
