User Experience Designer

Major Responsibilities

  • Design user-centered products and services, addressing the full spectrum of users’ touchpoints, motivations, and needs.
  • Provide UX support during design sprints, including consulting and delivering low to mid-fidelity wireframes and prototypes tailored to project requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and developers to ensure designs are implemented efficiently, meeting both user and business needs with minimal iteration.
  • Deliver consistent, well-crafted, and user-friendly UI designs for web and mobile applications.
  • Create detailed wireframes, prototypes, and other design artifacts to represent ideal or current user experiences for customers and employees.
  • Ensure all designs meet digital accessibility standards, including creating compliant interfaces, conducting QA, and performing holistic audits to support company-wide accessibility initiatives.
  • Plan and conduct user research sessions (e.g., usability testing, interviews) to uncover insights and translate findings into actionable design recommendations.

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of UX/UI design experience, preferably for both web and mobile platforms, with a portfolio showcasing:
  • Data entry interface designs for web and mobile applications.
  • Clear communication of design requirements and decisions to product stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Figma, with strong skills in prototyping and collaborative design workflows.
  • Proven experience working closely with developers to ensure effective implementation of designs, including providing quick-turnaround solutions during sprints.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience designing enterprise-level products, preferably within the financial sector.
  • Familiarity with contributing to or managing a design System to ensure consistency across applications.
  • Expertise in designing accessible interfaces and conducting accessibility audits.
  • Ability to plan and conduct user research (e.g., usability testing, interviews, surveys), analyze findings, and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Familiarity with Canadian agriculture or experience with agricultural software.
  • Experience using Jira for task tracking.
  • Knowledge of Scrum or Agile methodologies, with experience delivering rapid, iterative designs under tight deadlines.
