Back End Developer

Role Overview

SCIB IT is looking for a Senior Backend Developer to support technical leads and junior developers while acting as a trusted technology partner to the business. The role focuses on designing scalable backend solutions, driving best practices, and contributing to SCIB’s digital transformation within investment banking systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mission-critical backend systems and services.
• Drive best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and performance optimization.
• Support technical leads in adopting modern backend and cloud-native architectures.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to high-performing Agile/DevOps teams.
• Ensure software delivery excellence and engineering standards within the product team.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong experience in Agile & DevOps environments.
• Experience managing developers and enforcing code review strategies.
• Solid knowledge of modern architectures (microservices, public/hybrid cloud).
• Hands-on experience with Kafka Streams, Java, MongoDB, Elastic.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Investment Banking / Wholesale Banking domain knowledge.
• Sprint planning and team coordination skills.
• Ability to translate business data needs into technical solutions.
• Spanish or Polish language skills (plus).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar.

Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or Data Science is a plus.

Fluent English required (C2 preferred).
