Aviant automates the delivery of packages using drones. After starting in the labs at MIT in 2020, we have launched three home delivery bases, flown over 8,000 flights, and managed to take a leading position in the European drone market.
We will now launch our fourth base in Ski outside of Oslo, which will reach nearly 100,000 people. We are looking for a software engineer to take an active role in developing and maintaining the software on the drone and the surrounding stack. Relevant technology:
- Autopilot: PX4 fork on NuttX (realtime embedded C++)
- Ground control station: QGroundControl fork (Qt/C++)
- Onboard software: python, gstreamer on Debian
- Server software: python, golang, postgres
- Ops: ansible, docker, AWS, Debian
- Networking: openvpn, MAVLink
Responsibilities:
- Improve the reliability and capability of our drones
- Troubleshoot software, firmware and hardware symptoms
- Develop tools to make your own workday more efficient
- Partake in on-call rotation
Ideal candidate:
- Impressive prior experience with realtime C++, python and linux
- Solid understanding of cybernetics, physics and electronics
- Writes readable and safe code
- Has a critical mindset
In Aviant, we have a broad range of backgrounds, but we all have in common that we work day and night to make drone delivery a reality. We are seeking talented people who also want to have an impact on society. If this sounds like you, we hope that you apply!
