Senior .NET Developer (FinTech / Payments)

For our client, we’re looking for a Senior .NET Developer to drive engineering delivery for greenfield payment initiatives in a regulated fintech environment. This role blends technical leadership with active development, focusing on building secure, scalable, and modern payment platforms across Europe.

What you’ll do:

• Lead technical design and backend delivery using C# / .NET
• Build and maintain payment processing services (real-time & batch)
• Implement ISO 20022 and SWIFT MT/MX messaging
• Integrate with bank APIs, payment rails, and file-based channels
• Own architecture, code quality, reviews, and mentoring
• Ensure security, compliance, resilience, and auditability
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and engineering teams
• Drive CI/CD, testing strategy, and technical documentation

Must-have experience:

• 6 + years hands-on with C# / .NET (Core / 6 / 7 / 8)
• Background in payment systems & banking integrations
• Knowledge of ISO 20022, SEPA, and payment messaging
• Hands-on experience with SWIFT, FPS, BACS, CHAPS, TARGET2
• Experience in Open Banking & regulated financial environments
• Strong skills in REST, SOAP, SFTP, XML/JSON, MQs, SQL Server
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, secure coding
• Excellent English communication & leadership skills

Nice to have

• Experience with core banking platforms or digital wallets
• Knowledge of clearing, settlement, cut-off times
• Cloud-native experience (Azure or AWS)
