Senior Product Designer – BT Pay

Role summary

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape one of Banca Transilvania’s key digital products, BT Pay. This role is ideal for someone who combines excellent craft, systems thinking and product strategy awareness.

You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering and Research to craft meaningful product experiences and continue elevating BT Pay. In this role, you’ll help advance its usability and shape the long‑term direction of a product used and appreciated by millions.

What you’ll do

1. Shape BT Pay’s experience

• Explore abstract concepts and turn them into structured, actionable design directions.
• Identify opportunities to evolve the product experience through user insights, ecosystem understanding and design exploration.
• Design thoughtful, high-quality mobile flows that balance user value, business priorities and technical feasibility.

2. Deliver high-craft product design

• Produce polished visuals, micro-interactions and prototypes that raise the bar for usability and delight.
• Craft experiences that work seamlessly within existing patterns while pushing the system forward.
• Contribute to evolving and refining our design system through consistent, well-documented design solutions.

3. Partner across teams to shape product decisions

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Engineering, Business Analysts and Researchers to define direction, challenge assumptions and align on priorities.
• Communicate design decisions with clarity and confidence to both design peers and non-design stakeholders.
• Participate in discovery initiatives, helping build shared understanding through user journey maps, flows and concept explorations.

4. Maintain design high standards

• Engage in constructive critiques, offering thoughtful feedback and raising the craft bar for the team.
• Bring clarity to ambiguity and help others see opportunities through design thinking.
• Contribute to a culture where curiosity, iteration, and learning are embedded in how we design.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & expertise

• 5+ years of experience in digital product design (mobile-first experience preferred).
• A portfolio showing strong end-to-end product thinking, excellent interaction design and high visual craft.
• Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous, fast-paced domains and bring structure to them.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on complex, multi-surface products.

Skills & qualities

• Strong understanding of usability, user psychology, and systems thinking.
• Excellent communication: able to clearly articulate trade-offs, reasoning and insights.
• Confident working with product metrics and customer insights.
• Comfortable iterating fast, testing assumptions and learning through exploration.
• Fluency in English and Romanian.
