Chief Information Security Officer
Location: Hybrid – Near Gdańsk (Bydgoszcz area)
Contract Length: 6 months (Interim / B2B)
Start: Immediate
We are seeking an experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead IT and security for a PE-backed manufacturing business during a critical phase of stabilisation and integration. This is a high-impact interim assignment where you will take ownership of IT operations, cyber risk, and core systems while defining a pragmatic, scalable IT roadmap aligned to a buy-and-build strategy.
This role is hands-on and judgement-led, not a transformation programme. You will operate as the senior IT authority on-site, working alongside a third-party strategy provider while ensuring operational control, security resilience, and readiness for future acquisitions.
The Role
As the Interim CISO, you will be accountable for IT and security leadership across a €50m revenue, asset-heavy manufacturing environment.
- Own IT operations and cyber security across infrastructure, access, backups, and ERP/finance systems
- Lead IT and security decision-making during a buy-and-build phase, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and defensible
- Assess current-state IT and cyber posture, identifying gaps, risks, and priorities
- Define pragmatic IT governance, standards, and controls aligned to PE expectations
- Act as the primary interface between operations, finance, external vendors, and investors
- Reduce reliance on third-party advisors through hands-on leadership and delivery
- Ensure cyber hygiene, access control, backup integrity, and incident readiness
- Document decisions, risks, and roadmaps to support continuity and future integrations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CISO, Head of IT, or senior IT/security leader in manufacturing, industrial, or asset-heavy environments
- Strong practical expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, and IT governance
- Experience operating in PE-backed businesses, ideally during growth, integration, or buy-and-build initiatives
- Comfortable owning ERP, finance systems, and core infrastructure security
- Confident working on-site and engaging directly with operational and senior stakeholders
- Able to operate autonomously, make judgement calls, and challenge vendors when required
- Immediately available for a hands-on interim assignment
