Electrical Project Manager

JDL Recruitment is currently supporting a confidential international data centre developer in the appointment of an Electrical Project Manager for a major, mission-critical project based in Narvik, Norway.

This is a senior owner-side role within the developer’s project delivery organisation, responsible for providing full electrical oversight across a technically complex hyperscale data centre development. The position plays a critical role in managing electrical contractors, supporting overall project execution, and ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality outcomes from design through to commissioning and handover.

The Electrical Project Manager will act as the lead electrical representative on site, managing electrical interfaces across multiple disciplines, reporting into the wider project leadership team, and working closely with construction, commercial, engineering, and commissioning functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and technical oversight for electrical system delivery from early design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate and oversee all electrical construction activities, ensuring works meet design intent, programme milestones, and technical standards.
• Review and approve electrical designs, technical submissions, method statements, and commissioning documentation.
• Manage interfaces between electrical systems and Mechanical, Controls, and CSA disciplines.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and support schedule recovery planning across electrical work packages.
• Oversee quality assurance, inspections, testing activities, integrated systems testing (IST), and final handover documentation.
• Act as the primary electrical point of contact for contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Promote a strong culture of health, safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement on site.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience delivering electrical systems on data centre or mission-critical construction projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of HV/LV distribution, UPS systems, generators, power conditioning, and control systems.
• Proven experience managing electrical delivery through design, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages advantageous.
