About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Fullstack Software Engineer to join our Marketing Technology team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and leading the technical vision of our content platform, which supports marketing and product teams in creating seamless communication experiences across multiple channels. Your primary responsibility will be to architect and build a no-code or low-code platform that empowers marketing teams to efficiently author, segment, and plan lifecycle communications for onsite and offsite channels such as email, push notifications, and external advertising platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design, product management, marketing, and engineering to deliver scalable, reliable, and innovative solutions. Your leadership will help streamline workflows, reduce time-to-market, and enhance the overall usability of our tools, ultimately driving growth and engagement for Airbnb. Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in hands-on software engineering roles
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Proven technical leadership experience, including leading project teams, setting technical strategy, and mentoring engineers
• Strong understanding of fullstack development and platform architecture
• Experience designing scalable, reliable, and efficient systems
• Passion for system quality, availability, and operational excellence
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to define product and technical strategies aligned with business goals
• Experience working in or with marketing technology platforms is a plus
• Ability to foster an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative team environment
  
  

Responsibilities

• Design and architect the future state of the content platform, incorporating product-first workflows and user needs
• Lead and mentor engineering teams, both internal and external, to deliver high-quality technical solutions
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and marketing stakeholders to develop requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives
• Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and operational best practices
• Identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions to improve platform usability, scalability, and performance
• Contribute to strategic planning and technical roadmaps for the marketing technology ecosystem
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing Technologies, Machine Learning, Growth Marketing, and Creative to deliver integrated solutions
• Establish technical standards and best practices to ensure the platform's robustness and scalability
