DevOps Engineer

Wipro is looking for a Senior Devops Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team. As the Senior Devops Engineer, you will play a critical role in architecting and engineering a next‑generation Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. You will contribute to one of the Group’s flagship initiatives—building a strategic cloud platform that enables the business to deliver next‑generation digital services and supports the Bank’s long‑term vision.

Your Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain resilient, scalable, and secure Kubernetes environments on GCP.

• Engineer and optimise Kubernetes infrastructure for multitenant workloads with strong workload isolation and operational scalability.

• Design and enforce robust security controls including OPA Gatekeeper policies, fine‑grained RBAC, mTLS, and secure service mesh configurations.

• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines that support automated testing and high‑quality deployments.

• Troubleshoot complex system‑level issues related to scalability, networking, performance, and automation.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver cloud‑native solutions aligned with engineering best practices.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong experience in DevOps or SRE roles within consumer or SaaS environments.

• Hands‑on expertise designing, deploying, and managing production‑grade Kubernetes clusters and containerised services.

• Proven experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment workflows.

• Proficiency in Python, Go, and Bash for automation and tooling.

• Extensive experience developing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

• Strong understanding of GCP infrastructure, cloud networking, and cloud security principles including KMS, PKI, encryption, DNS, IPAM, VPN, routing, and least‑privilege access.

Desirable Skills

• Service Mesh technologies such as Istio or Anthos, including mTLS, sidecar management, and telemetry.

• OPA Gatekeeper for policy enforcement and tenant isolation.

• Anthos Config Management, GitOps‑based provisioning, and Backstage GitOps workflows.

• Shared Kubernetes services including CoreDNS, cert‑manager, Dynatrace, Cloudability, and Infoblox.

• Observability stacks such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Dynatrace.

• Aqua Security for container runtime protection.

• Harness CI/CD for secure and automated deployments.

• Linux internals, performance tuning, and deep troubleshooting.
