Title: Investment Associate

Company Summary: A Washington DC-based Investment Fund is seeking a Investment Associate to join its dynamic team. The firm specializes in growth equity and venture capital fund-of-funds across a diverse range of industries. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a lean, highly acquisitive team, offering early and significant responsibility, hands-on deal experience, and exposure to all aspects of the investment process.

The Investment Analyst / Associate will be responsible for:

  • Conduct or lead quantitative and qualitative due diligence on venture capital and growth equity fund investments
  • Analyze fund performance, portfolio construction, and underlying company metrics
  • Monitor and track existing portfolio investments
  • Prepare investment memos, marketing materials, and internal presentations
  • Support or manage relationships with fund managers and investment partners (Associate level)
  • Contribute to opportunistic secondary and direct co-investment analysis
  • Support fundraising activities and broader firm initiatives
  • Mentor junior team members (Associate level)

The Investment Analyst / Associate should have the following qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience evaluating venture capital and/or growth equity funds
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, economics, business, or related field
  • Strong interest in venture sectors such as software, fintech, healthcare, frontier technologies, blockchain, and AI
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex concepts into clear investment insights
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and sound investment judgment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with AI tools used in research and analysis (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity)
  • Experience with Python, SQL, or similar tools is a plus
  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, team-oriented, and comfortable taking initiative
  • For Associate-level candidates: proven ability to lead investment processes with limited supervision and strong relationship-building skills
