Overview
The AKS Arc team is building container management and orchestration services designed for the hybrid environments, enabling cloud-powered features for containerized workloads anywhere outside of Azure Cloud. This team delivers container solutions on premises, at the edge, and across diverse infrastructures, helping organizations simplify the deployment, management, and scaling of containerized applications.
As a Software Engineer on the AKS Arc team, you will design and deliver large-scale solutions that enable seamless management of customers’ Kubernetes clusters. This position provides the chance to work on cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of cloud-native computing, while gaining deep expertise in Azure services, the Kubernetes control plane, and the broader cloud-native ecosystem. Responsibilities
- Advance the capabilities of Kubernetes and auxiliary components on Azure.
- Improve quality of service for Azure AKS Arc.
- Balance pragmatism with vision; deliver continuous improvements to the team’s process and codebase.
- Build automation to prevent and/or remediate service problems from becoming production incidents.
- Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 1+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience in object-oriented programming or managed code (e.g., C#, Java, C++, Go, or similar).
- 1+ years of professional software engineering experience in designing, building, and testing services or large-scale systems.
