Lead Product Designer, Product Management & Design

Veikkaus TECH-department is looking for a Lead Product Designer (Product Management & Design) for a permanent full-time role.

Join our growing team of skilled real-money gaming industry design professionals! We are responsible for the entire User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design of the Veikkaus TECH product portfolio. Productization and product centric design are key objectives for our group. Our goal is to create and maintain high-quality products that meet player and operator needs and preferences both domestically and abroad. Our team works closely with Veikkaus’ subsidiary Fennica Gaming to bring our games to international audiences.

We are looking for a Lead Product Designer to join and lead our agile design team. As a part of larger multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for UI and UX design, guidelines, and continuous improvement of best practices related to our current and future gaming products. You have the opportunity to work with the entire Veikkaus portfolio ranging from lottery web site design to electronic instants, casino games and sports betting, including back-office solutions. In addition to setting direction to the product design team you will also have managerial responsibility of the group.

Main Responsibilities Include

• Design both player facing and back-office user facing UI and UX with a consistent look-and-feel throughout
• Develop wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design ideas and user flows to stakeholders
• Create intuitive, user-friendly, and visually compelling interfaces that align with the product's vision and business goals
• Validate design choices and measure the effectiveness of design solutions using appropriate methods
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and insights to refine the product design
• Gather and document requirements for both products and product concepts as our product portfolio grows
• Analyze customer feedback, user data, and market trends to identify pain points and opportunities for enhancing the product experience
• Lead the Product Design team with managerial responsibility including regular 1:1 meetings, goal setting and performance evaluation

We Expect From You

• Strong portfolio and at least 5 years of experience in product centric design with digital products with at least one year as a lead designer
• Experience in people management, preferably in a Product Design setting or some other expert group
• Understanding of agile methodologies and philosophy as we work in an agile incremental delivery model
• Good documentation skills and natural ability to communicate with users in order to find the best possible user experience
• Interest and ability to conduct different types of user studies (questionnaires, observations, qualitative research etc.)
• Strong knowledge of design systems and tools of the trade (we use Figma as our design software)
• Experience in light UI-prototyping combined with good visualization skills to bring concepts into life
• An appropriate degree (BA/MA or similar polytechnic degree) or otherwise acquired appropriate competence
• Good command of English as it is our main documentation and working language since Veikkaus is an international technology company
  
  

Any Of The Following Are Considered An Advantage

• Any lottery, betting or other real-money gaming experience
• Experience from gaming industry or developing digital products in a B2C environment
• Embedded systems design, especially in consumer-facing applications
• Back-office (management applications) UI and UX design experience
• Design experience on multiple platforms, such as web, mobile or embedded systems
• Finnish language is helpful, but not mandatory

The position is located at Veikkaus’ headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. We work flexibly in a hybrid model. To foster collaboration and effective teamwork, we meet at the office three times a week.
