At APS Group IT, you will be part of a team of highly skilled colleagues and collaborate with colleagues in other regions. You will participate in an innovative work environment on complex projects involving marketing technology for leading international corporate customers, including Albert Heijn, Philips, BBC, and the UK Government.

Your role

We are looking for a summer UX/UI Design Intern to join our design team. In this role, you will help support our team members by crafting user experiences across our various marketing technology product ecosystems. The scope of the internship is broad and varied — from service design to product design, from systems thinking to creating wireframes and supporting UI development. No two days are the same, and the work is highly hands-on and collaborative.

Your impact on the team

• Support multiple projects and strategic initiatives across our product ecosystem
• Assist in creating wireframes, experience journey maps, interactive prototypes, system thinking maps, and UI components
• Help develop presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Conduct user benchmarking and competitive analysis to identify user needs and design opportunities
• Support design operations by documenting processes, creating guides, and preparing supporting materials for smoother collaboration with development teams and stakeholders
• Assist in building, documenting, and maintaining the APS design system to ensure consistency across products.
• Assist with daily operational tasks, including administrative and coordination support for the design team

What you'll bring

• Currently enrolled in a degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field (preferably at a Research University (WO)), or you have graduated within the last 6 months.
• A strong passion for design and for crafting thoughtful and user-centred experiences.
• A hands-on mindset, willingness to learn by doing and reflect in action. Design is not always perfect from the start, and iterative thinking is your modus operandi.
• A portfolio of work samples that demonstrate an understanding of iterative thinking, conceptual user-centred design, interaction design and visualisations of complex experiences.
• Some experience with tools such as Figma, Miro, ProtoPie or similar is preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain and advocate for your design decisions and set personal development goals during your internship.
• A collaborative attitude, you enjoy working with others and thrive in a team environment.

What we offer

This internship is crafted around the idea of a mentorship program. A professional designer will become your mentor throughout the duration of the internship, who will guide you in the day-to-day work, working side by side on a variety of design projects and tasks. Every Friday, a dedicated one-to-one session with your mentor will be about your professional development and ways of growing or improving your work. Your design identity, strengths, and personal design vision will also be explored and nurtured along the way.
