Due to the continued expansion of our operations in the region, we are looking for a “Commercial Project Manager, Americas” to be assigned to our Commercial Operations Department at our İstanbul HQ to support our growing business needs.
WHAT DO WE EXPECT?
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field (MBA or Master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of experience, preferably in an international environment
• Mandatory experience in the energy sector
• Proven experience in commercial management of international investment projects in the energy sector
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret contracts, budgets, and financial reports
• Financial understanding and strong business mindset
• Demonstrated stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multi-party internal and external communication
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
• Advanced MS Office skills and strong presentation capabilities
• Analytical, detail-oriented mindset with a focus on improving commercial performance
• Ability to work effectively in a complex, cross-functional and fast-paced environment
• Strong team player with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• No restriction for frequent international travel
WHAT AWAITS YOU?
Due to the continued expansion of our operations in the region, we are looking for a “Commercial Project Manager, Americas” to be assigned to our Commercial Operations Department at our İstanbul HQ to support our growing business needs.
This role will play a key part in driving the commercial performance of our existing projects while actively supporting new market development initiatives across the Americas, working in close collaboration with senior management.
On the Project Management Aspect;
• Monitor contractual compliance of projects in coordination with Country and Project Managers, attend meetings and negotiations, and actively participate in decision-making processes related to contract scope and obligations
• Track project schedules, budgets, and overall financial performance
• Perform monthly financial analysis including budget comparisons, variance analysis, cost control, operating cost monitoring, and P&L management
• Analyze deviations impacting project budgets (production plans, forecasts, maintenance plans, etc.) and propose corrective and preventive actions
• Lead and coordinate profitability improvement initiatives with Technical Teams and relevant stakeholders, obtaining senior management approval where required
• Prepare monthly invoices, follow up on collections, and provide periodic country-based reporting
• Conduct contract risk assessments, consolidate risk data from relevant departments, and report on a contract basis
• Perform financial analysis and feasibility studies for new products and service opportunities, assessing risks and opportunities
• Support the Commercial Operations Director in contract drafting processes and actively participate in contract negotiations
• Perform regular financial performance analysis, report to senior management, and propose new strategies and improvement initiatives
• Define and monitor contractual milestones under company responsibility and ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
• Ensure effective cost control (including Fuel Cost, Operating Expenses, and Powership Cost) and provide structured improvement recommendations to management
On the Business Development Aspect;
• Coordinate and support regional transaction and business development activities
• Initiate and maintain relationships with investors, developers, consultants, and key stakeholders
• Monitor global sector trends and identify new overseas project opportunities in line with company strategy
• Conduct feasibility, valuation, competitor, and market analyses; develop implementation proposals and support execution of approved plans
• Engage in new investment activities and contribute to both evaluation and implementation phases
• Take an active role in bid preparation and contract processes
• Conduct and coordinate internal and external communication for assigned projects, ensuring alignment between Commercial, Technical, and Sales teams
• Identify new business development opportunities and growth initiatives by assessing macroeconomic and sector-specific developments
• Prepare periodic market intelligence and project status reports for senior management, highlighting potential risks and opportunities
• Conduct preliminary technical and commercial assessments for Powership tenders and offers, closely supporting and coordinating with the Sales team
• Contribute to technical evaluations within the team and participate in executive review sessions with internal and external stakeholders
