About the Role

Role: Sr. Backend Engineer C++

Location: Chicago

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end across the full software development lifecycle (design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support)
• Design and build high-performance, distributed systems in C++
• Write clean, efficient, and testable production-grade code
• Collaborate with global engineering, product, and operations teams
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making
• Support mission-critical platforms that operate at billions of daily requests
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience with C++

Required Skills

• Strong background in system design, distributed systems, and network programming
• Experience building large-scale, high-availability systems
• Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, and modern software engineering practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and passion for technical innovation
• Ability to collaborate across time zones with global teams

Preferred Skills

• Experience in AdTech, Video, Media, or Streaming platforms
• Experience with mission-critical or real-time systems

Pay range and compensation package

Salary: Up to $190,183 base salary + bonus
