About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team working on the FordPass app, an innovative mobile platform relied upon by millions globally. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining native iOS applications that serve a diverse, worldwide user base. Your expertise in Swift and iOS development, coupled with your passion for delivering high-quality software, will ensure the continuous enhancement of our digital offerings. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to develop scalable, modular, and user-friendly applications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of connected vehicles and mobility solutions at Ford, working in a fast-paced environment that values innovation, agility, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing native iOS applications
  • 5+ years of expertise in Swift and the iOS app development ecosystem
  • 3+ years of experience in mobile frontend application architecture, emphasizing modular design, state management, and navigation strategies
  • Proficiency in designing UIs using SwiftUI
  • Experience with CI/CD environments and tools such as Fastlane
  • Knowledge of architectural patterns like MVVM and MVC
  • Basic scripting skills in Ruby
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and agile development practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality native iOS applications for a global audience of drivers and vehicles
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on product designs and architectures, ensuring adherence to software engineering principles
  • Investigate new products and emerging technologies to enhance application features and performance
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for ongoing and future development
  • Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and technical teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery
  • Implement and improve modular architecture, state management, and navigation within the applications
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure software quality and reliability
  • Contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines, optimizing development workflows
  • Support operations and observability efforts, including monitoring application performance and troubleshooting issues
