About The Role
We are actively seeking a talented UX/UI Designer to join our team supporting an ongoing Federal program. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, with future opportunities to work from our Tysons, VA office or any location within the United States. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting user research in alignment with the design thinking process, translating user needs and business requirements into innovative and intuitive user interfaces. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including UX designers, researchers, engineers, product owners, business analysts, and product managers, to ensure the delivery of high-quality digital solutions. Your expertise will contribute to developing design systems, maintaining style guides, and ensuring accessibility and usability standards are met across all deliverables. Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in UX/UI design or related fields
- Portfolio demonstrating research and UX/UI design skills
- Proficiency in design software such as Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent
- Knowledge of human-computer interaction and usability principles
- Experience with user research techniques and data collection methods
- Understanding of responsive web design to address cross-browser and cross-device compatibility
- Familiarity with design systems and adherence to style guides
- Basic knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 for effective design handoff
- Awareness of Section 508 and WCAG accessibility compliance standards
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or Department of Defense (DoD) Public Trust clearance; candidates with active Public Trust or suitability are preferred
- Design and execute user research activities following established design thinking methodologies
- Translate research insights, user feedback, and business requirements into actionable design tasks
- Ideate and develop features from concept to implementation, creating low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity interactive prototypes
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including UX designers, researchers, engineers, and product teams, to communicate user experience findings and design rationale
- Organize and maintain design files and assets for seamless development handoff using tools like Zeplin
- Contribute to the development and refinement of design systems and style guides through team collaboration
- Maintain consistency in user interface and design patterns in accordance with live style guides
- Ensure all designs and implementations adhere to web standards, accessibility, and usability best practices
- Support ongoing updates and improvements to digital products based on user feedback and testing
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align design strategies with project goals and technical constraints
