DevOps Engineer (Git Systems) | Remote

Position: Git Environments Expert – Advanced Git SWE (3+ YOE)

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $85 to $100 per hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: Short-term, project-based

Role Responsibilities

• Design complex Git scenarios including merge conflicts, interactive rebases, recovery states, and history investigations.
• Author deterministic task prompts with fully testable and verifiable success criteria.
• Implement automated test suites to validate repository state, commit history, and workflow correctness.
• Develop and document reference solutions using reproducible Git commands.
• Conduct peer QA reviews and refine tasks to meet project standards.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience working extensively with Git in production environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Git internals including merging strategies, rebase workflows, reflog, bisect, and recovery techniques.
• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for automation and test creation.
• Experience designing technical assessments or engineering challenges.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to write precise technical specifications.
