Scrum Master (SAFe, Kanban, Mining OT involving Robotics)

Are you an outstanding Scrum Master wanting to make your mark? A large, leading and global provider of mining technology which is transforming mining with its automation technologies and sophisticated operational software has a significant Software Product Development in Brisbane which is part of a wider effort with development undertaken in the India and the US. Utilising SAFe & Kanban, you will be responsible for leading the 2 highest performing, self-managing and dynamic squads and coaching these 2 squads to deliver in accordance with agile values, principles, and practices. These 2 squads are responsible for delivery features in the 2 most critical parts of the product.

As a Scrum Master, you will:

• Promoting team specific processes and practices that also contribute to achieving overall objectives of the Agile Release Train within the SAFe program and driving continuous learning to ensure measurable team progress.
• Facilitating regular team meetings and ceremonies, including daily stand up, planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives, and accepting accountability of enacting the actions arising from the ceremonies.
• Working with other Scrum Masters to share process and knowledge to grow and scale the Delivery Teams as we continually improve to meet our objective of excellence.
• Understanding the reason why team members experience blockers and providing solutions to those blockers so that the team maintains its velocity and quality while keeping WIP to a minimum.
• Working closely with the Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure the Developers have complete features and user stories ready to estimate and commit to within sprints, as part of the program increment.
• Driving best-practice software development processes as defined by the Software Development Manager and other technical leadership groups.
• Working closely with management and other areas of the business to effectively communicate and manage change early and understand the change to assist with the implementation within the Scrum Master’s own team.

You will need to possess the following to be considered for this role:

• 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, leading high performing, self-managing, and dynamic software teams.
• Experience in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe), etc.
• Strong Agile leader, educator, and team coach with experience running agile teams of varying size and complexity.
• Demonstrable examples of facilitating team ceremonies and contributions at the program level.
• Experience in managing the planning, implementation, and successful agile delivery of one or more complex software projects.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with a strong focus on building relationships with stakeholders.
• A continuous improvement mindset focusing on removing process waste and driving innovation in the team.
• Experience using Azure DevOps, JIRA, or equivalent.
• Experience with softwtare product development.

One of more the following are highly desirable:

• Scrum Coach and/or Scrum Master certification.
• SAFe Scrum Master experience will be highly regarded.
• Kanban certification

The role is on site with the office based in the Brisbane CBD. This is a contract role running for an initial period of 12 months with the strong likelihood of extensions for a strong performer.
