Data Centre Network Engineer – Weekend Trading Support High Frequency Trading Environment

We are partnering with a leading high-frequency trading firm operating one of the most advanced low-latency infrastructures globally.
Their Production Infrastructure team is seeking a Data Centre Network Engineer to join a high-autonomy, performance-driven environment supporting mission-critical trading systems.
This role combines deep network engineering, hands-on data centre operations, and trading application support within a highly technical, fast-paced environment.
The Role
This position participates in a structured weekend rotation covering network and trading application support.
- Engineers typically work two out of every three weekends
- Short-term periods of consecutive weekend coverage may be required
- Coverage hours:
- 11 AM – 11 PM (October–April)
- 9 AM – 9 PM (April–October)
- Shifts are either 12 or 8 hours (based on preference)
- This remains a standard 38-hour work week
- This is not an escalation-only shift — engineers are actively engaged during coverage hours

Primary Responsibilities
- 1. Weekend Network Support Rotation
- Own production network support across Saturday and Sunday
- Diagnose and resolve complex networking issues in real time
- Support low-latency data center networks and exchange connectivity
- Operate independently and make confident decisions in production environments
- 2. Data Center Operations (via Remote Hands)Coordinate and execute hardware installs and replacements
- Carry out higher-risk changes outside weekday trading windows
- Perform structured data center change activities with strong attention to risk management
- Secondary ResponsibilitiesSupport trading applications running on Linux
- Perform troubleshooting across CPU, memory, disk, and application logs
- Assist with provisioning and operational support tasks
- Required SkillsDeep understanding of networking fundamentals
- Strong hands-on experience with BGP and data center networking
- Prior background as a network engineer
- Comfortable troubleshooting Linux systems
- Experience coordinating hands-on data center work
- Working knowledge of Python or another scripting language (must be comfortable contributing to existing tools; primarily Python/Go)
- Nice to HaveApplication support experience in Linux environments
- Experience working in low-latency or trading environments
- Automation mindset with DevOps-style approach to operational improvement
