Data Business Analyst

Job Brief:

We are seeking a dynamic Data Business Analyst to support our data engineering and architecture teams in delivering Azure- and Informatica-based data solutions for enterprise and government clients. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring the delivery of scalable and effective data architectures. This role demands strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of data ecosystems, particularly in Azure and Informatica.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize business and technical requirements for data solutions
Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and data requirements for Azure- and Informatica-based data architectures
Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure solutions meet business objectives and adhere to compliance standards
Analyze and document existing data processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement
Assist in the design and implementation of data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, and security
Facilitate communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on deliverables
Develop and maintain documentation, including business process models, data flow diagrams, and user manuals
Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate the functionality of data solutions and ensure they meet business needs
Monitor project progress, provide status updates, and manage risks or issues related to data initiatives
Stay informed about advancements in data technologies and recommend tools or methodologies to enhance project outcomes

Qualifications and Experience:

3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in data-related projects, preferably involving Azure or Informatica ecosystems
Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and data pipeline workflows
Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Informatica PowerCenter/IICS is highly desirable
Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and querying
Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams to deliver iterative solutions
Strong knowledge of data governance principles and practices, including metadata management and data cataloging
Ability to create detailed documentation, including business requirements, technical specifications, and process flows
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills:

Experience working on government or highly regulated projects, with familiarity in compliance frameworks
Exposure to Power BI or other visualization tools to support data presentation and decision-making
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in data environments
Certification in Azure, Informatica, or business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is a plus
