Job Title: Systems Engineer (DevOps / IT Systems Operations)

Location: Luxembourg (Onsite – 5 days in office)

Job Description:

• We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join an IT Systems Operations team within a dynamic R\&D environment.
• The role focuses on automation, infrastructure reliability, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence, supporting critical systems in a high-availability and security-driven context.
• The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, deploying, monitoring, and optimizing modern IT infrastructure while collaborating closely with development, security, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD & Automation

• Design, implement, and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline software integration, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of human error, including server configuration, system updates, and deployments.

Infrastructure & Architecture

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure consistency, traceability, and version control of infrastructure.
• Execute scripts and automated workflows for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment.
• Contribute to infrastructure design and architectural decisions aligned with best practices.

DevOps Practices & Tooling

• Stay current with DevOps tools, technologies, and industry trends.
• Evaluate and introduce new tools or practices to improve system reliability, scalability, and productivity.
• Apply best practices across software development, integration, and delivery pipelines.

Collaboration & Operations

• Work closely with software development teams, IT security, and other internal stakeholders to ensure stable and secure software releases.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives, system upgrades, and special projects as required.

Monitoring, Performance & Optimization

• Monitor system and network performance, availability, and capacity.
• Analyze metrics to proactively identify issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement optimization measures across network, application, and system layers.

Incident Management & Support

• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
• Respond to incidents promptly, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of infrastructure, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Contribute to audits by ensuring systems and processes meet reliability, consistency, and security requirements.
• Keep detailed records of resolved incidents, completed tasks, and specific system configurations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in IT Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of network protocols and IT security principles.
• Expertise in:
• Orchestration and automation
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• CI/CD pipelines
• Containerization and cloud architectures
• Experience with automatic provisioning and configuration management tools.
• Familiarity with OpenShift and strong networking skills are considered a plus.
• Excellent technical documentation skills.

Languages

• Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
• Additional languages are an advantage.
