Data Scientist

We are looking to speak with highly skilled and experienced Data Scientists to join a telecoms business based in Muscat Oman.

The Data scientist will create and maintain new connections between source systems and Big Data Lake, Perform basic data management and staging operations on raw data work, in close cooperation with other Data Scientists.

You will be responsible for:
* Maintain and develop data ingestion pipeline for Data Lake.
* On-board new data sources and help Data Scientists with configurations.
* Analyse and translate functional requirements/ change requests into technical specifications.
* Troubleshoot and remedy data quality issues raised by Data Scientists.
* Create / execute unit tests.
* Contribute to anomaly detection and alerting tools evolution in the pipeline (both real-time and batch).
* Design and maintain schema for persistence layer, including partitioning.
* Design analytical models based on roadmap of use cases.
* Develop CVM campaigns concept based on performance and market.
* Define campaign objectives, KPIs and target segments
* Development of Customer Life-Cycle Management policies and procedures
* Identify areas for improvement of Customer Life-Cycle Management policies and procedures.

You will have the following:
* A minimum of 7 years' experience in Data Science
* Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as; Maths, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Operational Research
* Telecoms experience is desirable
* Big Data batch connectors (for e.g. Sqoop)
* Big Data streaming connections (for e.g. Kafka, Flume)
* Fluent in FTP connectivity
* Knowledge of SQL.
* Knowledge of Data Science concepts
* Hadoop programming languages: Spark/Scala/Hive etc.
