Network Engineer

I am seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This role involves hands-on configuration, support, and troubleshooting of our enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is proactive, experienced with modern network technologies, and able to provide advanced technical solutions while supporting day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, install, upgrade, and support LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and Wireless devices.
• Provide onsite support for IT tickets via the service desk and assist onsite staff with technical issues.
• Troubleshoot network issues, wireless connectivity, IoT devices, software, and hardware (including laser printers).
• Deploy and support Palo Alto SD-WAN edge equipment across multiple sites.
• Maintain accurate network documentation for all company locations using Netbox.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex service desk requests.
• Participate in special projects and other assigned responsibilities as needed.
• Expand and maintain network monitoring across the environment.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to develop, implement, and enhance network and security solutions.
• Provide solutions to meet current, enhanced, and future business needs.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and recommend improvements for systems, networks, and security issues at an advanced level.
• Regularly utilize Jira, Azure Entra ID, Cisco Meraki, Juniper Mist, and Palo Alto platforms.
• Travel to multiple plant and warehouse locations to support IT infrastructure and resolve technical issues.
• Will spend a good amount of time supporting the OT engineers, so an understanding of PLC/HMI and OT topology (The Purdue model) would be beneficial to a candidate.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in configuring, deploying, and supporting enterprise network environments.
• Hands-on experience with SD-WAN, wireless networking, and security platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across networks, devices, and software applications.
• Familiarity with network documentation tools like Netbox.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple locations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with vendors and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites as needed.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with HP Aruba, Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, and Juniper Mist technologies.
• Knowledge of IT service management tools such as Jira.
• Understanding of network security principles and solutions.
