We’re supporting an innovative technology company near Ghent that develops intelligent camera and video-based embedded systems used in real-world, high-performance environments.

They’re now looking to hire a Junior AI Engineer to join their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to work at the intersection of computer vision, embedded systems, and real-world AI deployment.

The Role:

As a Junior AI Engineer, you’ll contribute to the development and optimisation of AI models running on edge devices. You’ll work closely with hardware, embedded software, and product teams to bring intelligent video solutions from concept to production.

You’ll be involved in:

• Developing and training computer vision and deep learning models
• Optimising models for embedded and edge deployment
• Working with video streams, image processing, and real-time data
• Supporting integration of AI models into embedded Linux environments
• Testing, validating, and improving model performance in real-world scenarios
• Contributing to continuous improvement of AI pipelines and tooling

What They’re Looking For:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Electronics, or similar
• 0–3 years’ experience in AI / Machine Learning / Computer Vision
• Strong Python skills
• Experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Understanding of computer vision concepts (OpenCV, image processing, object detection, etc.)
• Interest in embedded systems and edge AI
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment
• Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn

Bonus points for:

• Experience deploying models to embedded hardware (ARM, NVIDIA Jetson, etc.)
• Knowledge of C++
• Familiarity with model optimisation techniques (quantisation, pruning, ONNX, etc.)
• Exposure to real-time video systems
