QA Engineer (Part-Time)

Join a dynamic game development team as a QA Lead, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality gaming experiences across PC, console, and mobile platforms. In this part-time contract role, you will lead a team of QA professionals, define and implement robust QA strategies, and collaborate closely with developers to maintain rigorous testing standards. Your expertise will be crucial in managing both manual and automated testing processes, overseeing bug tracking, and ensuring that all releases meet industry and platform certification requirements. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented leader with a passion for gaming and a strong background in quality assurance within the games sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the QA team, managing task allocation and performance.
• Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies, test plans, and test cases for multi-platform games.
• Oversee all aspects of functional, regression, performance, compatibility, and usability testing.
• Coordinate with development teams to identify, document, and track defects using tools such as JIRA and TestRail.
• Ensure timely execution of test cycles and readiness for release milestones.
• Monitor build stability, participate in sprint and release planning, and provide regular quality status reports.
• Implement and manage automated testing processes where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with platform certification standards (console guidelines, app store requirements).
• Analyze QA metrics to assess quality risks and drive continuous improvement.
  
  

Skills And Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of QA experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within the gaming industry.
• Strong understanding of the game development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Proficient with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
• Experience testing games on PC, console, and mobile platforms.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages is a plus.
• Familiarity with Unity or Unreal Engine and live-service game environments is highly desirable.
