SQL Developer (Database / Finance Systems)

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced SQL Developer to join a technology team supporting critical finance systems at a leading global financial institution. This role focuses on building and enhancing database-driven applications used daily for financial control and reporting.

You’ll work on high-impact systems, collaborate with international teams, and help modernise tooling and development practices in a regulated enterprise environment.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and optimise SQL Server database solutions
• Develop stored procedures, functions, data models, and ETL logic
• Support a business-critical finance control application used by hundreds of daily users
• Ensure data accuracy, performance, and reliability for daily reporting processes
• Contribute to system upgrades, tooling improvements, and engineering standards
• Work closely with global teams in an Agile / Lean delivery environment
• Take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution

Key Technical Requirements

• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server
• Proven SQL development skills (performance tuning, stored procedures, data modelling)
• Experience working in Agile development teams
• Good understanding of software development lifecycles
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with global stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience in investment banking or financial services
• Exposure to finance, risk, or control systems
• Understanding of governance, compliance, or audit-driven environments
• Experience working on large-scale, enterprise systems
