Senior DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer

About the project: developing and extending back-office software applications. These software applications are utilized to automate Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse operations.


Responsibilities:


  • Assists with architecture, design, development, implementation, and integration of automation, monitoring, DevOps support, and container technologies.
  • Assists with analysis of IT or business problems.
  • Assist with the evaluation, development, and recommendation of specific technology products and platforms to provide cost-effective solutions that meet business and technology requirements.
  • Assists with the implementation of best-fit solutions.
  • Assists with architecture, design, deployment, and integration of solutions and ensures all quality and change control standards are met.
  • Assists with root cause investigations and provides recommendations for preventative measures.
  • Assists with the development and documentation of processes, procedures, and best practices
  • Assists with regular status, operational, incident, and change reports.


Requirements:


  • General experience in DevOps domain — 5 years with automating, optimizing, and maintaining IT infrastructure to improve efficiency, reduce manual tasks, and enhance scalability
  • Experience with automation tools: Ansible/Puppet, Terraform/CloudFormation
  • Experience with scripting languages: Python, Bash, or PowerShell for custom automation tasks
  • Proficient in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience in automation of cloud resource provisioning and scaling
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
  • Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI to automate build and deployment processes
  • Solid knowledge of Linux(RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows Server management
  • Experience with monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, etc. for infrastructure monitoring
  • Understanding of network protocols and automation (e.g., managing firewalls, load balancers, DNS updates via APIs)
  • Familiarity with tools like Netmiko or Napalm for network automation


Good to have:


  • Familiarity and/or experience leveraging cloud platform and SaaS solutions
  • Experience contributing to Open Source initiatives
  • Familiarity with Hashicorp Vault
  • Familiarity with additional database technologies, including Oracle, Vertica, Postgres, or Snowflake
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse concepts
  • Familiarity with Java and C#
  • Insurance industry knowledge
  • Financial industry knowledge
