DevOps Engineer

We are currently offering a permanent position for the role of:

DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer, you will join a shared DevOps service team and play a key role in operating, automating, and maintaining the largest high-security private cloud in Switzerland. You will implement and manage software solutions, build automation frameworks, and ensure secure, stable, and scalable platforms. The role also involves close collaboration with other operational teams, integration of systems, and continuous improvement of DevOps practices.

The role is based in Bern and is offered at 100% employment, with the possibility of internalization and contract extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently implement simple or specialized Backlog Items with minimal supervision
• Create and refine Backlog Items with the Product Owner, estimate and plan for upcoming iterations
• Ensure Built-In Quality and Built-In Security of software solutions
• Design, implement, configure, and refactor software solutions
• Build, maintain, and operate automation frameworks
• Integrate software according to applied deployment concepts
• Develop and maintain monitoring of software solutions
• Operate, measure, and continuously improve software solutions
• Handle incidents and service requests, providing 2nd and 3rd level support as well as on-call duties
• Collaborate closely with adjacent operational teams (Application, Network, Access Security, Infrastructure Layer)

Your Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (HF, FH, Uni or equivalent)
• Extensive hands-on experience with Privileged Access Management (CyberArk) and other security tools
• Proven expertise with Private Key Infrastructure (PKI)
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools such as GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience integrating software into overall ICT systems and subsystems
• Substantial experience in large, heterogeneous, and distributed ICT infrastructures
• Strong engineering skills (methodology, processes, models, and application)
• Hands-on experience in automation and programming (PowerShell, Ansible) and integration of heterogeneous APIs
• Experience in high-security environments (finance, emergency services, or similar)
• Team player with excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in German (C1) and English (C1)
• Certifications in PAM, PKI, DevSecOps, or CEH are a plus
• Motivated, resilient, and capable of working independently
