React and Python Developer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented React/Python Developer to join our development team. In this role, you will work on building and optimizing trading platform features for the energy and commodities markets, with a strong focus on real-time data integration, visualization using Highcharts, and data processing with Databricks. Experience in commodity trading will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications using React.js and Python.
• Design and implement robust APIs and back-end services for real-time trading data using Python.
• Integrate commodity market data into the platform, including real-time pricing, trading metrics, and risk management tools.
• Leverage Databricks for data processing, integration, and analytics to support trading operations.
• Use Highcharts or similar charting libraries to build dynamic visualizations for trading data, market trends, and analytics.
• Collaborate closely with traders, product managers, and stakeholders to define and implement new features.
• Ensure high availability, security, and performance of the platform under the demands of real-time trading.
• Work with the data engineering team to integrate machine learning models and algorithms that enhance trade decision-making.
• Optimize platform performance, especially in high-load conditions typical in commodity trading.
• Write clean, maintainable code, following best practices and design patterns.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring junior developers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience with React.js (for front-end) and Python (for back-end) development.
• Experience developing trading platforms, particularly in the commodity trading space.
• Expertise in using Databricks for data processing and integration.
• Strong experience with Highcharts (or other charting libraries) for real-time data visualizations.
• Knowledge of real-time data integration, including APIs and data pipelines.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD practices.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Solid understanding of databases (SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling techniques.
• Knowledge of data streaming technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in the commodity trading industry, with a focus on trading strategies, pricing models, and risk management.
• Familiarity with financial analytics tools and libraries, and quantitative analysis techniques.
• Experience with machine learning models and their integration into trading platforms.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices for continuous integration and delivery.
• Understanding of energy markets and trading regulations specific to the oil and gas industry.
