Role Summary: The Senior Engineering Manager will lead the engineering lifecycle for a diverse portfolio of software products from inception to execution. This leadership role involves close collaboration with business, product stakeholders, and engineering teams to ensure product goals are clearly defined and achieved efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Product and Engineering Leadership: Engage with key stakeholders to define and align on product visions and roadmaps.
• Translate complex product goals into executable roadmaps and sprint cycles.
• Lead the strategic planning and high-level system design, ensuring adherence to scalable and secure architectural practices.
• Engineering Excellence: Advocate and implement advanced design frameworks such as Domain Driven Design, Clean Architecture, and Layered Architecture to enhance system robustness.
• Drive comprehensive test strategies, including unit, integration, and blackbox testing, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of system performance, setting and enforcing rigorous Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
• Project and Team Management: Effectively manage project timelines and resources, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery of projects.
• Resolve project impediments swiftly using technical expertise and strategic problem-solving.
• Lead and develop a cross-functional team, fostering an environment of growth and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with the recruitment team to strategically grow the team in alignment with project needs and organizational goals.
• Maintenance: Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure high availability and performance of all systems.
• Regularly evaluate system performance and implement optimization strategies to ensure efficient operation and resource usage.
• Lead efforts in technical redesign, remodeling, and refactoring of existing systems to improve scalability and sustainability.
• Adaptability and Consensus Building: Navigate and thrive in ambiguous environments, demonstrating flexibility and agility to adjust strategies and execution plans as business dynamics evolve.
• Skilled at fostering consensus among diverse stakeholder groups, aligning varied perspectives and strategies to cohesively address emerging opportunities.

Skills Required:

• Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with web application frameworks such as Ktor, Ruby on Rails, Java Play.
• Proficiency in programming languages including Kotlin, Java, Ruby.
• In-depth knowledge of datastores such as PostgreSQL, Aerospike, Redis, DynamoDB, Amazon Redshift.
• Skilled in communication protocols like HTTP, Kafka, Amazon SQS, Sidekiq, Amazon SNS.
• Mastery in server management tools including Amazon ECS, Docker.
• Leadership and Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire a team of technical professionals.
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within scope.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working closely with multiple stakeholders to drive business and product alignment.

Qualifications:

• 10-14 years of software engineering experience with a significant portion in a management role leading technical teams.
• Exposure to consumer-facing products and backend engineering.
• A history of successful team management, project execution, and stakeholder engagement.
