About The Role

As a Software Engineering Team Lead (Frontend) at Wallester AS, you will be responsible for leading and growing a team of frontend engineers while remaining technically involved in the development of our web applications.

You will plan, organize, and guide frontend engineering work, ensuring timely delivery, high quality, and alignment with product and business goals. You will act as a bridge between the engineering team, product managers, designers, and senior leadership, while continuously improving frontend practices, processes, and team culture.

This role combines people leadership, technical leadership, and hands-on contribution.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of frontend engineers
• Provide technical leadership and direction for frontend architecture and development
• Plan and prioritize frontend development work to meet product goals and deadlines
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and optimize delivery
• Act as a bridge between the frontend team and senior management
• Participate in hands-on development when needed, especially for complex or critical tasks
• Review code and ensure high standards of quality, performance, accessibility, and security
• Identify technical risks, technical debt, and improvement opportunities in frontend applications
• Drive adoption of best practices, standards, and tooling within the frontend team
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, and career development of team members
  
  

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of professional experience in frontend or full-stack software development
• 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring software engineers
• Strong expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Extensive experience building and maintaining production-grade React applications
• Experience designing frontend architectures and state management solutions
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and frontend–backend integration
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in agile development environments (Scrum)
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
