Azure Cloud Engineer

We're seeking a consultant to join our client's team, focusing on enhancing their Azure Cloud environment. The current setup follows an enterprise-scale hub-and-spoke model, incorporating elements from the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Microsoft Well Architected Framework. This involves a hybrid architecture connected to the client’s data centers via IPsec VPN and/or ExpressRoute. The environment is organized into various management groups tailored to specific functionalities, network requirements, and target audiences.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will engage in the standardization of the Azure platform, transitioning to Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform in conjunction with GitHub repositories. You will also oversee the deployment of various Azure services, which include native products like Firewalls, Application Gateways, VPN Gateways, DDoS protection, and more, ensuring adherence to governance policies such as Azure Policies and tagging conventions. Additionally, you will guide and train an internal colleague on the Azure platform.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Proven experience as a Cloud Architect.
• Strong background with cloud applications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), ideally with 5 years of experience.
• Experience in setting up new Azure environments for multiple projects.
• Solid understanding of ICT infrastructure solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Fluency in Dutch at the European CEFR C2 level.
• Experience with migration processes (desirable).
• Knowledge of ongoing Azure projects within the regional government (desirable).
  
  
  

Work Environment

This position operates within an Agile framework. While the client provides necessary licenses, software, and network access, candidates must use their own Office license. Additionally, the possibility of remote work is available, contingent upon agreement with the client's representative. Proficiency in both English and Dutch is essential for this role.
