We are seeking a highly skilled Network Design Engineer with strong experience in enterprise networking, SD-WAN migrations, security transitions, and automation. Our client is migrating their core infrastructure to the Cisco SD-WAN architecture, and so the ideal candidate is a proactive and self-sufficient professional, able to gather requirements, create the migration plan, interact with the stakeholders remotely and on-site, and perform the migration during the allotted window.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Manage Collapsed Core architectures
- Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2/3 technologies (VLANs, EtherChannel, MPLS, OSPF, BGP at the Edge)
- Lead migrations from legacy infrastructures to Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela)
- Manage wireless environments (Cisco WLC)
- Support firewall transition from Fortinet to SD-WAN tunnels integrated with Zscaler
- Automate network changes using Ansible and Terraform
- Participate in end-to-end migration projects (audit → design → cutover)
- Coordinate multiple remote site migrations (20–300 users)
- Travel within Europe for site audits when required
- Python scripting for network automation
- Experience using LLM tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for documentation and scripting
Profile
- Strong hands-on networking background
- Experience in SD-WAN and security migrations
- Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
- Comfortable working in structured, migration-driven environments
