Technical Support and Network Engineer

Our client is seeking a Technical Support and Network Engineer to support and enhance a complex, multi-site network environment. We are looking for an engineer wit a strong background in providing 2nd and 3rd line support, acting as an escalation point, and with a strong knowledge of supporting network and infrastructure solutions. There is 3-4 people in the team and this role reports into the Senior Technical Lead, who has 2 direct reports.

Responsibilities

1. Provide 2nd / 3rd line technical support in a busy production support environment supporting a large number of multiple sites.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
3. Ensure IT systems & platforms , networks and infrastructure are compliant with relevant policies.
4. Act as an escalation point for infrastructure, networking and production support incidents
5. Provide support to the IT Service Desk, offering guidance and expertise on infrastructure-related issues.
6. Work with teams delivering IT infrastructure, networking, security, desktops / server, mobile projects

Experience & Technical Requirements

1. 8+ years’ experience in IT technical, desktop, infrastructure, networking, and enterprise systems support and industry recognised Microsoft, Networking, Infrastructure, Service Delivery and Project management certs/qualifications would be of benefit.
2. Strong Administration experience across MS Windows Server and/or Linux environments.
3. Strong background in supporting and managing multi-site network environments including good experience in:
4. Enterprise Microsoft, Mobile Device Management & VoIP environments.
5. Good skills in AD, DNS, and DHCP administration and troubleshooting
6. Implementing IT cybersecurity / security best practices, scripting / automation and backup / disaster recovery solutions
7. Networks - knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and TCP/IP
8. Configuration, administration, and support of servers, switches, routers, and firewalls ( knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet is of benefit.)

Please Note - The role is based in Dublin but there is alot of travel to support their subsidiaries / offices in Ireland. You will need a valid Irish driving licence.
