Architect the core trading engine for a next-generation Real-Money Exchange. This is a "0→1" engineering role bridging the gap between High-Frequency Trading and Digital Assets.

The Opportunity A well-funded, product-led scale-up is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build a new category of trading platform. This system enables users to trade on real-world event outcomes, requiring an engine that rivals the speed of a traditional exchange while offering the transparency of a decentralized ledger.

The Engineering Challenge This role focuses on solving the "Hybrid" problem: reconciling high-speed off-chain data (PostgreSQL/Go) with on-chain settlement (EVM/Solana). The platform must handle massive, sudden spikes in trading volume driven by real-world events, where data integrity and "zero data loss" are non-negotiable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Core Trading Engine: Designing high-concurrency backend services in Go to handle order matching, execution, and settlement.
• Hybrid Architecture: Building reliable pipelines that ingest blockchain events and reconcile them with off-chain state in real-time.
• Experimentation: Developing feature-flagging infrastructure to allow for the safe testing of new market types in production.
• AI-Native Workflow: The engineering team leverages an AI-native workflow, utilizing tools like Claude Code and Cursor to eliminate boilerplate and focus on complex architecture.

The Tech Stack

• Primary: Go (Golang).
• Data: PostgreSQL (optimised for complex locking/concurrency), Kafka/PubSub.
• Blockchain: EVM / Solana integrations.
• Infrastructure: Cloud Native (AWS/GCP), CI/CD, Observability (SLOs).

What is being looked for:

• Scale Experience: Proven experience working on systems that handle bursts of high-volume traffic (e.g., Trading, Gaming, or E-commerce).
• Data Rigour: A deep understanding of the difference between "eventual consistency" and "financial correctness."
• Curiosity: A genuine interest in the intersection of Market Structure, Trading, and Crypto.
