Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Senior Network Security Specialist to join a large, complex technology environment in Dublin city centre. This is a senior-level role requiring deep technical expertise in network and perimeter security. While broad cybersecurity knowledge is essential, approximately 60% of your core capability must be rooted in network security.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who began their career as a Network Engineer and has evolved into a security-focused professional — combining strong architectural understanding with practical, operational security expertise.

This is a senior, hands-on role.

You will be onsite 4 days per week.

Key Responsibilities & Expertise

Network Security (Primary Focus)

• Deep expertise in network and perimeter security concepts, controls, and architectures
• Hands-on experience securing enterprise-scale networks
• Strong understanding of firewalls, segmentation, IDS/IPS, secure network design, and threat mitigation
• Ability to assess, design, and improve network security posture across complex infrastructure

Broader Security Capability

• Solid grounding in wider cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Experience applying security controls across infrastructure environments
• Ability to balance architectural design with operational delivery

Career Background

• Early career experience as a Network Engineer, with clear progression into security
• Proven ability to bridge networking and cybersecurity disciplines
• Significant hands-on experience operating at a senior level
• Experience within large, mature, or complex enterprise environments preferred
