Job Title: GenAI Engineer

Location: Utrecht / Hybrid – 1 day per week onsite

Contract Type: Contract (payroll) - 12 months + extensions

Rates: 80-100 EUR/hr (flex for great candidates)

Orbis have partnered with a leading Dutch financial institution building production-grade GenAI agents to transform how 20+ IT teams operate, from automated PR reviews to backlog and code-generation tools.

They are seeking a Medior–Senior GenAI Engineer to design, build and scale AI-powered agentic systems in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. Sitting at the intersection of software engineering and AI, you’ll ship practical, production-ready agents used by 100+ engineers and scaled across multiple teams within months.

Key tech:

• Strong software engineering fundamentals (language agnostic – Python, Go, Java, JS etc.)
• Comfortable operating in an 80% backend / 20% frontend capacity
• Proven hands-on GenAI development experience (building agents beyond high-level SDK reliance)
• Deep understanding of how AI agents function in practice
• Rapid builder mindset – able to prototype functional applications within hours
• Experience integrating APIs, events, and external systems

Nice to Have:

• Experience with agent frameworks or MCP/“skills” frameworks
• Cloud fundamentals
• Integration experience with DevOps platforms
• Open-source agent framework exposure
• Active GitHub side projects demonstrating experimentation
