This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent and Fixed Term Full Time appointments with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

We currently have 2 x Fixed Term Full Time appointments available for 12 months with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Eligibility to Apply:
Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.

Other Conditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Referees may also be asked to comment on an applicant’s integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/12/2025.

Position Profile: Are you passionate about technology and cyber security? Do you want to play a pivotal role in protecting critical systems and data for The Department of Health (DoH). The DoH is seeking a dynamic Principal Program Officer in Cyber Security to lead and shape our Cyber Security initiatives, utilising your transferable skills and diverse experience.

You'll be at the forefront of leading, developing, managing, and undertaking system-wide ICT strategy and governance initiatives/projects, including oversight of the implementation of WA Health cyber security strategies, cyber security frameworks, cyber security implementation plans, cyber security risk and assurance reviews and contributing to detailed cyber security business cases, providing strategic advice and engaging with stakeholders on crucial cyber security issues, in alignment with our WA Health Digital Strategy.

  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in managing and delivering large and complex Cyber Security projects, using recognised project management principles, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with strong presentation and facilitation abilities. Demonstrated experience in effectively engaging and gaining cooperation among diverse stakeholders, including those with competing interests.
  • Knowledge of recognised governance, risk and compliance principles, techniques, and methodologies, specifically as they apply to Cyber Security.
